Monkey Sanctuary Hartbeespoort Dam
The Monkey Sanctuary is situated next to the Elephant Sanctuary, nestled within one of the many kloofs (gorges) of the Magaliesberg mountain range. Surrounded by lush vegetation, waterfalls and natural mountain springs, the sanctuary provides a beautiful environment where rescued primates can live as naturally as possible.
Primates, including our squirrel, spider and capuchin monkeys, are given a new lease on life at The Monkey Sanctuary. Many were previously kept as household pets or bred for the pet trade. Here, they are given the opportunity to explore a more natural environment, free to roam, climb and interact with one another within our spacious, free-release enclosure.
Join us for a family-friendly Monkey Tour and discover these fascinating primates living freely in a natural mountain environment.
